Education and Training Opportunities

Mental Health Partners is proud to provide relevant and informative training opportunities to staff and community members alike. Below is a description of various trainings offered throughout the year. Note that some courses are only available to MHP staff so public registration will not be accepted. Standard Motivational Interviewing (MHP Staff Only)
Motivational interviewing is a directive, client-centered counseling style for eliciting behavior change by helping clients to explore and resolve ambivalence.

Advanced Motivational Interviewing (MHP Staff Only)
Motivational interviewing is a directive, client-centered counseling style for eliciting behavior change by helping clients to explore and resolve ambivalence.

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training - ASIST (MHP Staff and Public)
ASIST is a  two-day workshop designed for members of all caregiving groups. The emphasis is on teaching suicide first-aid to help a person at risk stay safe and seek further help as needed. Participants learn to use a suicide intervention model to identify persons with thoughts of suicide, seek a shared understanding of reasons for dying and living, develop a safeplan based upon a review of risk, be prepared to do follow-up, and become involved in suicide-safer community networks.

IT Training - Utilizing various software and hardware at the Ryan Wellness Center (MHP Staff Only)
A variety of IT basics and AV utilization trainings provided for any MHP staff, on site at the Ryan Wellness Center.

Emergency Plan Training (MHP Staff Only)
Site specific emergency response training.

CPR/First Aid Training (MHP Staff Only)
Various CPR and First Aid certification courses offered by the Red Cross and provided on site at the Ryan Wellness Center.

Secondary Trauma (MHP Staff Only)
Education for MHP employees to better understand and manage secondary trauma.

Trauma Informed Supervision (MHP Staff Only)
Leading and managing with a trauma informed lense.

Supporting Transgender Clients (MHP Staff only)
Learn the skills and knowledge to support transgender clients navigate MHP with dignity.

Mental Health First Aid - MHFA (MHP Staff and Public)
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a groundbreaking, internationally recognized evidence-based training program committed to empowering individuals to identify, understand and respond to those in mental health and substance abuse crises.

Although MHP is the host and provider of various Mental Health First Aid trainings, all registration and course management is coordinated by Mental Health First Aid Colorado. If you have questions regarding your registration for these courses please contact them directly.
