Crisis Intervention Service

Crisis Intervention Service and 24-Hour Walk-In Center

Crisis Intervention Service staff respond to psychiatric crises of MHP clients, adults, children, families and friends of families or individuals in need of intervention and support.

Colorado Crisis Services (CCS)

1-844-493-TALK (8255) is a 24-hour support line for anyone affected by a mental health, substance use or emotional crisis. You may also text TALK to 38255. All calls and texts are connected to a mental health professional who will provide immediate support, as well as connections to further resources, including linkage to the closest walk-in crisis center or dispatch of the mobile crisis unit.

Mental Health Partners' Crisis Intervention Services include:
  • 24/7 crisis walk-in capability and crisis intervention services at 3180 Airport Rd. in Boulder for drop off by law enforcement, or client or family referral for those in crisis. Services are provided for anyone regardless of age, diagnosis, insurance or address—one does not need to be a Colorado resident.
  • Additionally, MHP maintains its psychiatry and nursing walk-in service during business hours, providing “urgent care” for clients in need of immediate attention, but who are not in crisis.
  • Enhanced mobile crisis placement of staff to extend our reach into the community to additional sites. A mobile unit with behavioral health professionals able to navigate anywhere within the region to complete a mental health assessment as well as recommend next steps in treatment.
  • Four adult “respite” beds (at another Boulder location) for individuals who are in urgent need of short-term additional support, structure, and expedited access to services to maintain or regain stability and avoid a higher level of care.
Withdrawal Management (formerly known as Detoxification)

Additional services provided at the 3180 Airport Rd. site include: detoxification, needle exchange, Vivitrol injections, a transitional residential treatment program and various group programs.

Mental Health Partners 24-Hour Walk-In Center

A Mental Health Partners Walk-In Center is open 24/7 at 3180 Airport Rd., Boulder. Services include confidential, in-person support, information and referrals to anyone in need. The center is available to those in need of direct services or those seeking to help engage another person in services, whether the crisis is substance-use related, or psychiatric or both.

Early Diversion Get Engaged (EDGE):

EDGE is a grant-funded service that dispatches mental health professionals on applicable police calls within the cities of Boulder and Longmont. EDGE staff provide assessments and referrals to individuals who are struggling with a mental health issue or behavioral outcome. The goal of the program is to divert persons from jail and/or the emergency room who will be better served by mental health or substance use treatment.
