In alignment with our mission to make mental health care more accessible and affordable for all, we accept Medicaid, Medicare, and most private (commercial) insurance providers. We also offer financial assistance to uninsured/underinsured clients who are eligible based on income.

Common questions and answers about our services

Who does MHP serve?

MHP provides mental health and addiction recovery care to people of all ages in and around Boulder and Broomfield counties, with a special emphasis on those with severe mental illness, as well as individuals and families who are uninsured, underinsured, or enrolled in Medicaid/Medicare.

In addition, our organization continues to advocate for and develop innovative programs with the goal of breaking down systemic inequities and barriers experienced by historically minoritized and under-resourced communities.

Do I have to be an MHP client to get help?

While some programs and services are only available to MHP clients who have completed the registration process, we provide free, in-person support for anyone who is experiencing a mental health crisis at our 24/7 Crisis Center. You do not have to be a client of MHP – or even a Colorado resident – to receive immediate, expert care and resources at no cost. All are welcome.

We also offer a wide range of cost-covered and low-cost trainings, activities, and resources for the public. Visit our Community page page for a list of upcoming events and trainings.

What if I don’t live in Boulder or Broomfield counties?

While we primarily serve individuals and families in Boulder and Broomfield counties, we also accept clients from elsewhere in Colorado. Mental Health Partners is part of a network of community mental health providers across the state and we strongly believe in the value of local support. These centers are provisioned by the Colorado Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) to provide essential mental health treatment services and support to the communities in their region. What types of services does MHP provide?

As a comprehensive community mental health provider, Mental Health Partners offers a wide range of outpatient mental health and addiction recovery services for individuals and families. We recognize many factors can affect someone's mental wellness – such as their financial health, stable housing and employment, social connections, healthcare access, and more. To treat the whole person, we provide wrap-around support and treatment to help address these and other factors.

In addition to traditional mental health services like individual, family, and group therapy, our clients have access to financial planning, housing assistance, resource navigation, vocational/employment support, specialty acute care programs, targeted case management, peer support, health and wellness coaching, and much more.

Do I have to be a U.S. citizen to receive services at MHP?

Mental Health Partners is committed to our mission of delivering compassionate, safe, trauma-informed, quality care to all individuals who need our services, regardless of their ability to pay or documentation status. This includes individuals who are uninsured, underinsured, ineligible for government assistance, or unable to pay for medically necessary care due to their financial situation.

We will never require a client to share their immigration status with us to get care or services. We seek to break down barriers to care for everyone in our community. All MHP clients have equal opportunity to apply for our Financial Assistance Program and will be treated with respect, cultural sensitivity, dignity, and confidentiality.
