Donna Bender

Donna has been in the social work field since 2017 and joined our team in 2019. Initially, she joined our Integrated Health Home (IHH) as a Social Work Intern, and then moved to the Assertive Community Treatment team in 2020. She now oversees the ASCENT program and team. Donna is passionate about mental health advocacy and access, social justice, and harm reduction. Donna finds working in community mental health to be incredibly gratifying and feels it is a great privilege to serve those in need within Boulder County. A major focus of her work has been destigmatizing severe and persistent mental illness, coping with psychosis, and practicing within a recovery-oriented lens for substance use. In her free time, Donna enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her pets and loved ones.
