Shimi Shiba

she/her/hers
Substance Use Disorder Adult Acute Care Intensive Outpatient Therapist

Shimi has always had a love of being of service to others and has an innate warmth and empathy towards people she comes across. Prior to counseling, she spent many years in the beauty industry. Her love for listening and helping others was the main drive to go back to school to pursue being a therapist. Upon completing school, she was drawn to acute care in Chicago emergency rooms and being one of the first people one would see when going through a crisis. She enjoys being around diverse groups of people with differing needs and feels that she can learn from them and their experiences. Shimi has a true passion for listening to others - be it emotional, mental, or substance use struggles. She always offers a safe space to speak. Her passions outside of work include studying holistic mind body connections such as yoga, spirituality, and astrology. She loves enjoying nature and exploring all the wonderful things Colorado has to offer.
